I met this guy about 6 years ago. We were studying a small business course certificate together. He then asked me to come and do some work for him. I was interested, as i knew he had started a small business taking photographs and printing them onto canvas.

I began my duties with him scraping the boards he used to mount the prints onto. Then i learnt his techniques for stapling and mounting the prints. Not long after we took a look at the technical side of the business and saw that he could save a lot of money if he stopped outsourcing the printing. So he hired a printer and we began doing tests for about a week.

It wasn’t long until my computer background came into play and it was evident that we could really make the images great. With a few minor touch ups and our manufacturing process, we were making some of the best canvas art available.

I haven’t scraped a board in years, as well have probably forgotten how to make the stapling really tight, but i sit at the desk for a few hours at a time & make sure what comes out of the printer is spic-n-span.

Tony Rea Designs have now become a real powerhouse in the art of canvas printing, a process and venture he has been doing ever since he left school teaching after too many years. He humbly works most days n slogs out the markets every weekend, sometimes on both days.

Apart from supplying the general public with his art, he also supplies some big corporations with images. Companies like Facebook and fitouts for ship fleets of P&O Cruise Liners.

Well done Tony & Jane (his partner), it’s a real pleasure working with such a nice family.
